The time of year has returned when we all start to rotate our wardrobes and bring out our summer clothes. In parralell with this ritual, is the time when brands across the globe release their SS19 collections.

Just like with the rest of the fashion world, Sika'a has released their SS19 collection of African printed clothing. During the past year, we reviewed the patterns and prints that were most successful to see what our customers loved, now reinventing them to bring new summer joys to our customers wardrobes.

We are proud to launch our SS19 collection, inspired by you and a step towards the continual evolution of Sika’a. Walk with us through a journey of African culture, all our items contain some of the most stunning African Prints and includes African Printed Shirts, African Printed dresses and whole host of other stunning products to insert into your capsule wardrobe. Here are just some of our favourites that you just have to try!

The Mabote A-Line skirt was the Sika’a statement garment of 2018. In SS19, our designers wanted to create a gorgeous african maxi skirt but during the designing process felt midi length worked better. This year the skirt uses richer colours and exceptionally flattering cuts. Here, mustard takes the place of bold yellow and plays host to the same slender gazelle in a new colour palette. The thicker, high waist band helps accentuate the female figure, whilst the structure of the skirt helps create a professional look. Pair with a plain white t-shirt and fresh white trainers and you have the perfect outfit for Summer evenings.

After the success of the Mabote signature print, our designers worked tirelessly to create the perfect African blazer to match. Featuring inverted lapels, full length sleeves and a structured hem, this is printed blazer is designed for women bold enough embrace new colours. The reeds and flower petals make their way up from the bottom - stretching across the sleeves and hugging the entire body. It has been designed to pair with the matching skirt - a power dressing outfit to truly make a statement. Alternatively, pair with structured red trousers that tailor around your legs and create a feminine silhouette that works effortlessly in office or formal environments.

Bold colours have always been a key inspiration for us here at Sika due to their integral connection with African culture. Picture this red Mabote-esque skirt as the staple piece this Summer, slipped on with a silk camisole and sandals. Pair with elegant, draping silk shirts that frame your figure and showcase the bold pattern to perfection. Our stylists are also inspired to slip this figure boosting skirt on with plain cotton t-shirts and plush trainers for a casual-chic look that any woman can showcase to perfection.

In SS19, we want our customers to inject colour into previously neutral clothing such as office pencil skirts or mundane maxi dresses. Our African blazers are statement pieces that do just that. The pop of red embraces everything that Summer embodies; the rich sunlight, hedonistic joy and unapologetic celebration of the human form. The tailored silhouette frames curves and pulls in the waist when fastened. Slip on over an A-line black dress or take a step away from the normality of your wardrobe to choose other red or green accessories.

For several years, the skinny trouser has flooded the catwalk, but 2019 marks the start of a significant change. Wide-leg trousers become the silhouette of the modern woman, moving away from slim fit style and embracing fuller, bolder shapes. Our designers have created some truly stunning African Print Trousers. Presented in the colour of the season, they are inspired by African nature and wildlife. A wide waistband is an additional detail, allowing you to tuck in silk blouses or plain t-shirts. Here we have created a casual, beach-ready look by pairing them with canvas flip flops and a simple plain vest.

Matching sets or co-ords as they have been coined continue to maintain their popularity of 2019. Our designers have created a range of items that can create the perfect combo. This includes an extensive range of African printed pencil skirts, African printed tops, African shorts and African printed blouses and African printed trousers. This jacket pairs with the matching trousers effortlessly, introducing the colours and style of our exotic country into your collection. Alternatively, you could try an African printed jumpsuit and go for the all in one look to help you turn heads for all the right reasons.

This African printed skirt has a darker colour pallet and one that lends itself, once more, to all manner of events. You could even style this skirt to give the impression of an all in one African print prom dress to create a truly glamorous look. The longer length reaches just above the ankle with a wide, fitted waistband and pleats for added structure. However, it is surely the print itself that promises to take centre stage. Combining the midnight blue of Africa’s skyline with rich, ruffled foliage and brightly budded flowers, the level of detail matches that of an artistic masterpiece.

Spring & Summer often play host to a multitude of special events including weddings and formal celebrations. This satin silk full-length gown could be the perfect African Print Wedding Dress. The bias cut tapers in at all the right places while the asymmetrical neckline flatters your feminine aesthetics. This African silk dress requires minimal input from other accessories - wear with strappy heeled sandals and a simple clutch.
